Search Console for creators

How to Add X to Google Search Console

Google Search Console now supports X accounts as Platform Properties. This lets publishers, creators and brands measure how their X content performs when it appears across Google.

The reports focus on visibility from Google Search and, when applicable, Discover and Google News. They do not measure all activity occurring inside X.

Before You Begin

You will need:

Platform option missing? The rollout is gradual. Some Search Console accounts may temporarily continue showing only Domain and URL-prefix properties.

1Open Google Search Console

Sign in to Search Console. Open the property selector in the sidebar or begin from the Search Console welcome screen.

2Choose Add Property

Select Add property to see the property types currently available to your account.

3Select X

Locate X in the supported platform list and select Add.

4Verify the Account

Follow Google's connection prompts and authorize access to the correct X account.

Verification may occur through a direct platform login or through an existing website property associated with the account.

5Open Your X Property

Once verification succeeds, select Go to property. Search Console may require several days to begin displaying data.

What Can You Track?

Search Console and X Analytics measure different things. Search Console measures discovery from Google. It does not replace the engagement, follower and impression data available inside X.

Why Connect an X Account?

Posts on X can appear in Google results, especially when they cover current events, public figures, brands, products or timely questions. Search Console can help reveal which subjects generate lasting search visibility.

You may discover:

Managing Multiple X Accounts

Create a separate Platform Property for every X profile you manage. Search Console keeps the reporting for each connected profile separate.

Ownership is periodically rechecked. If the platform authorization expires, reconnect the account to restore access to its existing reports.
